The GBS annual conference is being held in Erlangen from 26 to 28 September. We spoke to the conference president, Prof. Dr. Udo Gaipl, about new findings in radiobiology and their applications in cancer treatment.

Researchers at FAU working together with colleagues from Freie Universität Berlin have discovered a new molecule: the iron compound in the rare oxidation state +4 belongs to the ferrocenes and is exceptionally difficult to synthesise.

Exercising and doing good – not just for oneself, but also for cancer patients. Universitätsklinikum Erlangen, the Comprehensive Cancer Center Erlangen EMN and the Association for Nutrition and Exercise for Cancer Patients have extended an invitation to join them for a special event.

Continued success for FAU: after the excellent results in the Shanghai Ranking, which rated FAU among the top 200 universities in the world for the first time, the University has also been ranked highly in the QS World University Ranking. FAU is number 20 in the world – and number 1 in Germany – for the prestigious indicator 'citations per faculty'.

A great success for FAU: in the current Academic Ranking of World Universities, also known as the Shanghai Ranking, the University is ranked among the top 200 universities in the world for the first time.
