Materials scientists at FAU have developed a process that allows self-cleaning properties to be applied to ceramic surfaces that also work for liquids such as oils and alcohol.

The Mäanderhöhle cave near Bamberg was previously regarded as an archaeological sensation. However, Julia Blumenröther, a former student at the Institute of Prehistory and Early History, has demonstrated in her Master's thesis that the markings inside the cave are not fertility symbols carved by humans.
